Infrastructural development is undertaken by the School on a regular basis to constantly improve the quality of training based on the evolving techniques and modus operandi of terrorists.
Apart from the modern interactive instructional technological assets, the School prides itself in having designed different types of reflex firing ranges which cover all possible scenarios a counter terrorist/ insurgent is likely to face while operating in counter insurgency/ terrorism environment. More than a dozen innovative ranges exists in the School to practice the students in quick identification, acquisition and engaging targets in real timeframe. All these ranges are different and make the training as realistic as possible.
The big training asset of the School is the availability of most suitable terrain around it. The jungles provide the exclusivity that any training establishment longs for. The School during its exercises uses some of the erstwhile hideouts of the MNA, when insurgency was rampant in Mizoram.
