Introduction

 1.     A Corps tune is normally played by the band during certain ceremonial occasions such as wreath laying ceremonies, sports functions, ceremonial parade etc. Similarly a Corps Song may also be sung during occasions except during ceremonial parades etc. The aim of having Corps Tune and Corps Song is to foster and promote esprit-de-corps.

 2.     The Trustees of the EME RA have decided that the ‘LILLI BURLERAO’ tune will continue as the Corps Tune. The Corps song will also be based on the same tune.

 Corps Tune

 3.     The Tune "LILLI BURLERAO" has been adopted as the Corps Tune of the Corps of EME. The tune will be played by the band in two versions viz the full version and the short version. The occasions for playing the two versions, are given in the succeeding paragraphs.

 4.     Full Version

(a)     On all ceremonial parades of EME during March Past.

(b)     In the event of EME Colour being present in the ceremonial parades at the time when NISHAN TOLI is taking the colour from Raksha Coy to join the marching Column and vice versa.

(c)     Wreath laying ceremonies.

(d)     In any sports meet where the Corps band is required to play.

(e)     In the Officers’ Mess functions at the request of VIPs.

(f)     On Regimental Dinner Nights in the Corps/Centres Officers’ Messes. Audio Cassette may be played, when band is not playing.

(g)     At the beginning of the Sainik Sammelan in all EME Units.

(h)     Unit Raising Day Celebrations.

(j)     During Attestation Parade in the Centres.

 5.     Short Version

(a)     On AIR/DD, on Corps Day before the message by DG EME.

(b)     Arrival of VIPs in all functions like sports, Officers Mess etc.

(c)     EME RA Meet.

(d)     During Cols Comdt Meet.

 Corps Song

 6.     The Corps song selected for the Corps of EME is also based on the tune format of "LILLI-BURLERO". It has been suitably composed to facilitate ease of singing in chorus of solo and is in two versions viz the full and the short versions. The occasions during which the Corps Song is to be sung of played through recorded cassettes are given in the succeeding paras.

 7.      Full version

(a)     During Corps Day celebrations.

(b)     Other important unit functions (at the discretion of OC Unit).

(c)     At the beginning of the Sainik Sammelan in all EME units.

(d)     Unit Raising Day Celebrations.

(e)     During Attestation Parade in the Centres.

 8.     Short Version

(a)     Officers Mess functions after the Corps Tune at the request of the VIPs.

(b)     Sports Meets after the Corps Tune is played.

 Availability of Recorded Cassettes

 9.     Copies of the recorded cassettes as sealed samples are available with the following organizations for reference:-

(a)     Directorate General of EME (Coord) Army Headquarters, New Delhi– 110011.

(b)     EME Branches of all Command Headquarters.

(c)     MCEME and EME School.

(d)     1 EME Centre and 3 EME Centre.

(e)     EME Archives and Museum.

 Playing of Corps Tune/Song in Units

 10.     Any EME Unit desirous of playing the Corps Tune/Song on any of the occasions given in paras 5 and 6 above, will obtain the approved cassette form one of the places listed in para 9 above well in advance. No other cassette or bands other than Regimental bands will be used to play the Corps Tune/Song. Audio Cassettes for EME Tune and Corps Songs are available with EME RA C/O 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad on payment basis.
