Gen details of AOC Regimental  Association

AOC Regimental Association promotes welfare of the members of the Army Ordnance Corps. It ascertains problems facing the members and their dependents including the retired members, widows of the servicemen and ex-servicemen and also orphans of servicemen/ ex-servicemen of the AOC. Such problems are addressed, by extending financial assistance in the form of Out Right Grants, Scholarships, medical expenditure and death grant to NOK of member Officers/JCOs/OR. It also assists in Re-union's and similar gatherings of the Corps and administer such funds as may from time to time, be instituted by or be trusted with the Association. It also maintains liaison with welfare bodies to accept subscription and donations, in accordance with the rules. It assists in running of Boys Hostel for dependents of servicemen/ex-servicemen, widows and orphans of servicemen/ex-servicemen by providing financial assistance.

Governing body of the Regimental  Association

The governing body of the Association shall be the General Committee of the Association as laid down by the rules of the association and it shall have the authority to delegate power to the Executive Committee as provided for in the Rules.

The General Committee shall consist of:-       

(i)      Chairman           : DGOS and Sr Col Comdt.

(ii)     Vice Chairman   : The Second Lt Gen of the Corps or senior most Maj Gen.

(iii)    Members         : Colonel Comdt (If the appointment is held),MGs AOC all Commands, Addl DGOS, Comdt AOC Centre, DDG  OS (Ops & Adm), One Comdt of local depot/units (where the meetings are being held), four retired Offrs, one retired JCO/two retd OR  and Secretary & Treasurer.

Broad functioning of the governing body

The retired Offrs/JCOs/OR included in the General Committee will be nominated by the DGOS on the recommendation of the Regional Committee in such a way that adequate representation is given to all regions. The tenure of the nominated members shall be three years normally. They may however be proposed again or be renominated by the DGOS and Sr Col Comdt for further specified period. The Governing Body shall hold at least one ordinary meeting each year. A special meeting may, however, be summoned by the Chairman of the Governing Body at any time, provided 21 days notice with the agenda for discussion, is given to all members of the Governing Body. Eight members shall form a quorum. If no quorum is formed within half an hour of the time fixed for the meeting, it shall be adjourned to another date and time to be decided by the Chairman, when it may be held irrespective of whether or not a quorum is formed. In absence of the Chairman, the Vice Chairman shall act as Chairman. If the Vice Chairman is also absent, the next senior officer will act as Chairman. The Chairman shall have a casting vote. The Governing Body may delegate its power to the Central Executive Committee.

Composition of Executive Committee

 Executive Committee shall consist of the following:-

(i)  Comdt  AOC Centre   : Chief Executive
(ii)  Dy Comdt  AOC Centre   : Member
(iii) Two Officers : Members (One Major from AOC Centre and DADOS Andhra Sub Area/One Major from 54 Inf    DOU). 
(iv)  Two retired Officers     : Members
(v) One retired JCO : Member
(vi) Two JCOs from AOC Centre  : Members
(vii)  Two NCOs from AOC Centre : Members
(viii) Secretary    : Member

 

Broad functions of Executive Committee

The retired Officers and JCOs will be nominated by the Chief Executive. These nominated members shall have tenure of two years. The Executive Committee shall hold two ordinary meetings (half yearly) in each calendar year. A special meeting may be convened by the Chief Executive provided six days notice with the agenda for the meeting given to all the members. Six members shall form a quorum. In the absence of the Chief Executive, the member senior in rank shall act as the Chief Executive. The Chief Executive shall have a casting vote. The ordinary business of the Association shall be carried on by the Executive Committee, subject to any instructions or regulations, whether general or specific, which may be given to or be imposed upon the Executive Committee by the General Body.
