
OTA Insignia & Colours. The colours of the Officers Training Academy are French grey and crimson red. The grey colour denotes steely strength and resolve whereas the Red is for blood which signifies the ultimate sacrifice. The colours thus symbolize the living spirit of the Academy representing all that is noble and honourable. The insignia of the Officers Training Academy has two crossed swords superimposed with the Dharma Chakra. A scroll below bears the motto of the Academy, “Shaurya, Gyan, Sankalp” in Devanagari literally meaning “Valour, Wisdom & Resolve”.
Location. The Academy is located 14 km from Bodhgaya, the abode of Lord Buddha amid a sprawling estate of approx. 870 acres in a hilly terrain of Paharpur at Gaya. The Gaya Cantonment dates back to World War-ll as one of the HQs of the British Army.
Infrastructure. The academy is equipped with multifaceted training facilities including Sports Fields, Gymnasium, Sports medicine centre, Sand Model Room, Map Reading Nursery, Drill square, Air-Conditioned Classrooms and state of the Art Library to name a few. The academy provides a conducive environment to Gentleman Cadets to put forth their best efforts in their journey from a civilian to a trained combat soldier.
Aim & Vision. The Officers Training Academy, Gaya is mandated to train Gentleman Cadets of Technical Entry Scheme and Special Commissioned Officers courses to successfully lead an Infantry Platoon. They are trained to be professionally competent officers of the Indian Army and foster the qualities of Leadership and commitment to the values of Duty, Honour and Selfless service.
