1.         Lt Gen Arindam Chatterjee, AVSM, VSM, is an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and was commissioned on 20 Dec 1984 in the Armed Forces Medical Services.  The Gen Offr went on to do his MD in Hospital Administration in 2003. 

2.         The Gen Offr has extensive service in the early years with RMO tenures in Inf Bns and Regimental Centres.  During his  39 years of service, the Gen Offr has held numerous important administrative and staff appointments like Director General (Org & Pers) AFMS, MG Med at Command, Brig Med at Command, Brig AFMS (HR) and DADMS, HQ IMTRAT.  He has Commanded a Zonal Military Hospital and a Superspeciality Hospital. He has also held instructional appointment as Professor in Hospital Administration at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. 

3.         The Gen Offr assumed the appointment of DGMS (Army) on 21 Mar 2023. Prior to assuming his present appointment, the Gen Offr held the coveted appointment of Director General Medical Services (Navy) from 02 Jan 2023 to 20 Mar 2023. 

4.         For his dedication and devotion to the service, the Gen Offr was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal in 2021 and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2023. He has also been awarded the COAS Commendation in 2006, 2008, 2010 & 2015 and GOC-in-C ARTRAC Commendation Card in 2015.
