Lieutenant General Vivek Kashyap, AVSM, VSM

1.      Lieutenant General Vivek Kashyap, AVSM, VSM was commissioned in 1987 in 6 LANCERS of Indian Army.

2.      The officer has varied Command and Staff experience. He has commanded his Unit, an Armoured Brigade in deserts and an Armoured Division as part of Strike Corps. He has held appointments of Brigade Major, Colonel General Staff and Brigadier General Staff during his service. He has also been Instructor Class 'B' and 'C' at Indian Military Academy Dehradun. The General Officer has also tenanted the appointment of Major General General Staff Training at Headquarter ARTRAC and as Chief of Staff, Headquarter Central Command. He has assumed the appointment of Director General Armoured Corps on 20 April 2023. The Officer has also tenanted varied foreign appointments. He was Military Observer and Special Assistant to Special Representative to the Secretary General in CONGO. He has also served at United Nations Headquarter, New York as Military Advisor to Operations Branch at United Nations Headquarter.

3.      The Officer has attended the Defence Services Staff Course. He has also attended the Senior Command Course, Higher Defence Management Course and is an alumni of National Defence College.

4.      He holds degree of Bachelor of Technology in  Mechanical  Engineering,  Master of Science and Master of Philosophy in Defence and Strategic Studies, MBA degree from Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad and National Cyber Scholar Diploma from Rastriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar.
