DIRECTOR GENERAL ORDNANCE SERVICES & COLONEL COMMANDANT 
 
Lt Gen Suresh Chandra Tandi, Vishisht Seva Medal, the 27th Director General Ordnance Services assumed  office on 07 Dec 2022.   
 
The General Officer is an alumni of Sainik School, Chittorgarh, National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and was commissioned in the Army Ordnance Corps from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun in Dec 1986. 
 
The General Officer has varied operational, staff and instructional experience.  He has commanded an Ammunition Depot, the AOC Centre and a Central Ordnance Depot.  He has served as an Instructor at College of Materials Management and Indian Army Training Team at Botswana and he has also been Chief Instructor as well as Vice Principal and Dean of the prestigious College of Materials Management.  
 
The General Officer has attended the prestigious APPPA Course at Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi.  He also specialises in munitions technology.  The General Officer takes keen interest in adventure activities and has been a Mountaineer, Hang Glider, Para Jumper and Bungee Jumper.
