Composite Training Battalion

The Composite Training Battalion of the MIRC imparts technical training to Drivers ( A Veh Phase), Gunners and Operators of Mechanised Infantry Regiment and the Brigade of the Guards. In addition, it also imparts technical training to Drivers (A Veh Phase) trade young soldiers of other arms holding mech eqpt.

'A' Vehicle Drivers Training : The aim of Driving Training (A Vehicle Phase) is to make a young soldier fit to be a reserve driver of the crew, able to drive the ICV including crossing of BLTs and obstacles and able to carry out routine maintenance of the ICV. Duration of driver trade (A Vehicle) training is 18 weeks after 06 weeks of B Veh trg at D&M Trg Bn.

Gunnery Training : The aim of Gunnery training is to make a young soldier fit to be a reserve Pilot Gunner of the crew in his unit by familiarizing him with all weapon systems in the ICV, sights and with all types of ammunition/missles fired from the ICV. Duration of Gunnery training is 14 weeks.

Operator Training : The aim of Operator training is to make a young soldier fit to operate all the Radio sets authorized to a Mechanised Infantry Battalion, able to establish communication with Radio Sets and able to handle the tele exchange. Duration of operator training is 10 weeks.

OFC Training : The aim of Operator Fire Controller training is to make a young soldier fit to operate all the Radio sets and BFSR (SR) and (MR) to enable detection, identification of target and pass the information to the Bn HQ. Duration of OFC training is 15 weeks.

YS becomes a Trained Soldier and is posted to unit..
