LIFE OF A GENTLEMEN CADET

A trainee, on his admission to the Academy is christened as ‘Gentleman Cadet’ and is popularly known as a GC. The freshman Gentleman Cadets hail from diverse backgrounds with multifarious habits and grooming. The Academy plays a vital role in moulding those differences and helps them get anchored into a common bonding. Doing things together brings a sense of fellow feeling. On arrival at Officers Training Academy, Gentleman Cadets are organised in Battalions and Companies named after gallant war heroes and prestigious battle honours possessed by the Indian Army.  These companies instil in them espirit-de-corps, strong affiliation, sense of pride and team spirit which are essential for the future leaders. The association they have within the companies acts as their home away from home. The instructors posted in the Officers Training Academy are the best in the Indian Army and many are gallantry award winners. They are the role models for Gentleman Cadets and play a crucial role in imparting Military training. They persistently groom their personalities and motivate them to be effective and dynamic role models.
