Officers Mess - 1949

Officers Mess - 2009

In February 1948, the Mess moved to the present premises, which was then occupied by an Australian Lady Doctor and Nursing Officers of the British Military Hospital.

Main Ante Room

The main ante room was very small in size and the capacity was largely restricted. Additional space equivalent to the existing ante room was added through special repair works in 2006.

Despite of the expansion of the Ante Room there was a further need for providing more space in the Mess for large functions such as Biennial Conf/Re-union etc. Since there was no space available for further expansion, in 2007 a shed was constructed on the open terrace above ante room and dining hall.

Officers Mess Main Gate

The approach road from the Officers Mess gate to the Mess premises was very narrow and only one vehicle could move at one time on the road. In Mar 2009, the road was widened to cater for at least two vehicles and a retaining wall was also constructed along the road.

A new Gothic style gate was constructed at the entrance of the Officers Mess in Mar 2009.

The dining hall was renovated with provision of plaster of paris finish walls, replacement of iron frame, with wooden frames in the windows, provision of drapery rods etc.

Porch

The Officers Mess building did not have a porch which was required to improve the aesthetic as well as provide a covered space for guests leaving the mess dining rooms. A porch was constructed through Special Repair Works in 2007 which has enhanced the aesthetics of the building.

A water cascade was constr in 2007 in the Mess Garden area.
