The erstwhile Head Quarters building is popularly known as the ‘White House’, due to its distinctive white facade. Constructed in 1861, the White House was used as the Head Quarters of the Madras Presidency Army and later of Officers Training Academy. The White House being a Heritage building is now being converted into a 'Terrain and Tactical Info Centre' (TATIC) which will showcase the terrain where the Indian Army operates and types of eqpt in use in various terrain.
