KOCHI-LAKSHADWEEP-KOCHI OFFSHORE SAILING RACE

2. The team had to compete with Naval teams from respective commands. Inspite of all odds and trying conditions which resulted in one of the Naval teams being forced to retire half way even before reaching Lakshadweep the SEA EAGLES pursued with great determination and surprised the masters of the Sea at their home grounds.
3. The race had to be delayed and teams armed with Rifles & Amn due to the reported presence of Somali pirates operating in the area.
4. Vice Admiral KN Sushil, PVSM, AVSM, NM, ADC, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Naval Command gave away the Cash Award and Trophy to the winning team. The Admiral in his address complimented the participants. Cochin Shipyard Limited was the title sponsors and the units of Southern Naval Command provided safety and administrative support.
