
MAJ GEN VIR KUMAR BHAT, ADG AE & HoS (AEC)
1. Maj Gen Vir Kumar Bhat, born on 22 Nov 1966, was commissioned into Army Educational Corps on 13 Jun 1992 and did his initial infantry attachment with 12 JAT Regiment for one year. He took over the reins of AEC as Additional Director General of Army Education & Head of Service, Army Educational Corps on 01 Feb 2024. The officer is a post graduate in Mathematics, Executive MBA, PhD in Education and also holds a ‘Distinguished’ grade in Chinese Language.
2. The officer during his illustrious career has held various Instructional & Staff appointments. As an Instructor, he has served with AEC Training College & Centre, Pachmarhi and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. The officer has held the prestigious appointment of Principal at Rashtriya Military School, Chail and Sainik School, Tilaiya.
3. On staff, he was Staff Officer Grade 3 of a Mountain, Armoured & Infantry Brigade Headquarters and also had tenure in Corps Headquarters as a Colonel Education. The officer has performed yeoman services as Colonel MT-15, Brigadier RTI at Additional Directorate General of Army Education, Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army) and prestigious appointment of Commandant Army Education Corps Training College & Centre, Pachmarhi. Prior to taking over as Additional Director General of Army Education & Head of Service, Army Educational Corps on 01 Feb 2024, the General officer was tenanting the appointment of Brigadier Army Education at Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army)
4. In recognition of his meritorious service, the officer has been awarded with GOC-in-C ARTRAC Commendation Card while serving as Instructor of Chinese Language at AEC Training College & Centre in the year 2005, GOC-in-C Central Command & GOC-in-C South Western Command Commendation Card, in 2013.
