Maj Gen Virendra Singh (Retd). It is with a sense of profound grief and sorrow that we intimate the sad demise of Maj Gen Virendra Singh (Retd) of GLORIOUS FOURTH on 07 Oct 11 at New Delhi. He was commissioned in 1937. He served with the bn for initial one year of his service and thereafter proceeded to Armd Regt on permt posting. Maj Gen Virendra Singh was an extremely intelligent, motivated and dedicated offr who guided others and worked selflessly in all spheres. His demise is a great loss for all of us and he shall be always remembered for his exemplary service and cheerful disposition.

Brig GS Taragi (Retd). With profound grief and sorrow we express our heartfelt condolence on the sad and untimely demise of Brig Gopal Singh Taragi (Retd) on 24 Dec 11 due to cardiac arrest. He was commissioned on 31 Jan 1974 and commanded ‘FINEST FOURTEEN’. We pray to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and bestow upon the bereaved family, the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.

Col KPP Nair (Retd). With profound grief and sorrow we express our heartfelt condolence on the sad and untimely demise of Col KPP Nair (Retd) on 20 Dec 11. He was commissioned on 27 Feb 1943 and commanded ‘FIGHTING FOURTH’. Lt Col NK Mukerjee (Retd). With profound grief and sorrow we express our heartfelt condolence on the sad and untimely demise of Lt Col NK Mukerjee (Retd) on 30 Jun 2011. He was commissioned on 30 Jun 1963 and commanded ‘PAGALS’ wef 28 May 1984 to 02 Sep 1986. We pray to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and bestow upon the bereaved family, the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.

Maj Pawan Kumar Jindal. With extreme grief and sorrow, we inform the untimely demise of Maj Pawan Kumar Jindal on 04 May 11 due to splinter injury as a result of Grenade Blast during firing. Maj Pawan Kumar Jindal was a sincere, diligent and trustworthy offr, who during his service displayed a very high sense of discipline, integrity and devotion to duty. The unit has lost a true and excellent soldier. He is survived by Mrs Gunjan Jindal & Master Kartikey Jindal. We pray to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and bestow upon the bereaved family, the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.

Col YC Chopra (Retd) With profound grief and sorrow we express our heartfelt condolence on the unfortunate demise of Col YC Chopra (Retd) on 21 Dec 11 due to illness. He was commissioned on 11 Dec 1949 and commanded ‘FINEST FOURTEEN’.
