CHILDREN’S DAY 2022 AT FORT WILLIAM, KOLKATA

Mrs Nisha Kalita, Regional President AWWA, Eastern Command inaugurated Baal mela organised on the occasion of Children Day 2022 at Fort William Kolkata.  Army weapon display, education / career counseling, aero model display & ample fun activities like horse riding, games were organised. The children got a chance to display their hobbies & talents through numismatics, philately, painting etc at the hobby corner and budding women entrepreneurs were able to set up small food stalls. Magic show was organised for students of Asha School at Senapati Bhawan. Teachers & children of ASHA School also put up a short program and children spontaneously danced happily to music.

SWAHEED KRISHAK DIWAS

On the occasion of Swaheed Krishak Diwas, Lt Gen RP Kalita, GOC-in-C Eastern Command paid homage to the sacrifice of valiant farmers who laid down their lives on 28 Jan 1984 at Patharighat, Darrang, Assam on 30 Jan 2023. On this occasion, Gajraj Corps organised multiple events like Youth Info Centre, Medical Camp, Agri Help Centre and ESM Help Centre at Patharighat. More than 9000 locals including ESM joined the event. The event was also graced by various dignitaries of the State Govt.

RUN FOR UNITY AT FORT WILLIAM KOLKATA

On birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, HQ Eastern Command observed  Rashtriya Ekta Diwas by organizing Run for Unity at Fort William Kolkata on 31 Oct 2022. Approximately 1200 all ranks took the pledge to uphold Unity, Integrity & Security of the nation.

THE STATESMAN VINTAGE CAR RALLY

The Statesman Vintage Car Rally was inaugurated today by Mrs Nisha Kalita, Regional President AWWA & flagged off by Lt Gen RP Kalita, Army Cdr EC at Stadium Fort William, Kolkata. 88 Vintage cars & 26 two wheelers participated out of which 33 were given awards in various categories

The Pat Williamson Polo Ground came to life at an electrifying pace, with top quality Polo action as the Army Commander’s Polo Cup 2022 concluded with the ASC Team and Armoured Corps – Artillery team being declared joint winners of this prestigious tournament.
