7.     Candidates who in the opinion of the DGAFMS are prima facie suitable for appointment to commissions will be invited to appear in written examination and the required number of candidates from the merit list of the same will be called to appear in the interview before the AMC Selection Board. Candidates who have previously served as SSC officers will not normally be required to appear before the Selection Board, provided they apply for the grant of a fresh commission within one year of the effective date of their release from previous SSC service. The Selection Board will recommend the cases of such officers for the grant of SSC on the basis of their service records. This applies to such officers only as are released from service on completion of initial contractual period of engagement and are otherwise eligible in all respects.
