The Boys Hostel was set up at the Mechanised Infantry Regimental Centre, with aim of providing hostel facilities to the School going children of Veer Naries/ Widows/Servicemen/Ex-servicemen of the Regiment as a welfare measure. It was initially established in temporary accommodation in Oct 1987.

(THE CORE TEAM – RAISING)
In 1991, half an acre of land, adjoining the MIRC KLP was purchased, and the construction work was taken up by the MES as deposit work in 1992 at a cost of 35,45,000/-. The new Hostel building was inaugurated on 17 Jun 1995 by Lt Gen KL D’Souza, the then Colonel of the Regiment. The hostel has a capacity of 45 inmates with a large ante room cum dining hall, mordernised kitchen, a library, three class rooms, a computer room, indoor sports facilities like Table Tennis, Carom etc; and outdoor games facilities like Basket ball and Volley ball.

The Boys Hostel has been a home away from home to a number of children of our Regiment. It is doing a splendid job, providing the best of food on subsidized rates with a neat and clean environment. To assist the school going children with their studies we have the education staff and the administrative staff to take care of them.
Boys Sports Coy
In continuance with the zeal for achieving greater heights and keeping alive the ideology – “Children are the future pillars of the Nation,” the Boys Sports Company scheme was started in 1992 as a joint venture between the Army and Sports Authority of India (SAI) with the aim of selecting and grooming potential talent in selected sports discipline.

Boys Sports Company (BSC) was raised at MIRC Ahmednagar on 17 Dec 2004. Sports cadets have been participating in different competitions held at various levels and have won numerous medals with exemplary performance. The total tally of medals in Archery is 16 Gold, 06 Silver, 02 Bronze and in shooting is 08 Gold, 12 Silver, 04 Bronze respectively.
