MAINTAINABILITY ADVISORY GROUP NO-22 (MEDICAL) MAG-22 (MED)

INTRODUCTION

MAG-22 (Med) was raised by amalgamating earstwhile Engg Support Planning Cell (ESP) of DGAFMS and Det TG No 19 of HQ Tech Gp EME (Scaling), which used to function under Addl DGAFMS (E&S). MAG-22 (Med) started functioning with effect from 01 Jan 2000 at the premises of DGAFMS under Addl DGAFMS (E&S).It functions under technical control of HQ technical Group EME (Machinery and Armament Engineering Wing).

ORGANIZATION

ROLE

MAG-22 (med) is responsible for Eqpt Support Planning activities of all types of medical, dental & veterinary eqpt required by the three services of Armed Forces. The various functions being performed by this MAG are as under:-

a.     Render tech advice to DGAFMS on repair and maintenance of all types of medical eqpt held by medical establishment of defence forces ie Army, Air Force and Navy.

b.     Monitoring of Qualitative Requirement (QR) of medical equipment being procured.

c.     Preparation of ESP documents of newly procured eqpt.

d.     Conduct of User and maintainability Evaluation Trial.

e.     Close Co-ordination with Fd army to provide tech advice.

f.      Co-ordinate functioning of CRCs, Nodal wksps and AFMSD Wksp.

g.     Interaction with OEMs/other agencies for installation & repair of medical eqpt.

h.     To assist concerned sections of DGAFMS in implementation of Engg Support Plans.

j.      To review engg support planning and Army Order on the subject.

k.     Render advice in maintenance and repair to users and maintaining workshops.
