1.    Lt Gen Gajendra Joshi, AVSM, SM is an alumnus of IMA, Dehradun and was commissioned into 11 GARH RIF on 19 Dec 1987.

2.    During his distinguished career spanning for over 36 years, the General Officer has numerous noteworthy operational achievements to his credit.  

3.    The General Officer has been exposed to varied command and staff appointments. As a Young Officer he has served in Sri Lanka during Operation Pawan and counter terrorism/ insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir and North East.  He commanded Rashtriya Rifles Battalion in South Kashmir, Sector Assam Rifles, an Inf Division along LC in Jammu & Kashmir and the prestigious “Strike” Corps of Indian Army.

4.    He has attended the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Higher Defence Management Course and National Defence College.  He has also been an Instructor at NDA, Khadakwasla and HQ IMTRAT, Bhutan.

5.    His staff experience includes General Staff Officer-Grade 1 (Operations) of a Mountain Division, Col General Staff (Operations) at Corps HQ in High Altitude Area, Deputy Director General of Military Operations and Brigadier International Cooperation at the Army HQ.  The General Officer has tenated the appointment of Director General (Manpower Planning & Personnel Services) in Adjutant General’s Branch and Director General Territorial Army at Army HQ.  General Officer has been awarded with “ATI VISHISHT SEVA MEDAL & SENA MEDAL”.       

6.    The General Officer assumed the appt of Commandant, The Infantry School, Mhow  wef  01 Dec 2023.
