MOUNTAINEERING EXPEDITIONS. On the occasion of the Independence Day 2021, 13 Mountaineering expeditions were launched by Surya Command to the following Peaks/ Passes in Himachal, Garhwal and Kumaon regions :-

(iii) Mount Ibex
(iv) Mount Gangthang La
(v) Satopant Glacier
(vi) Panpatia Col
(vii) Guli Dhar Glacier
(viii) Sinla Pass
(ix) Sela Pass
(x) Balati Dhura Pass
(xi) Pt 6100
(xii) Pt 5795
(xiii) Silakong Top
The expeditions were flagged off by the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh through video conference on 13 Aug 2021. All expeditions successfully reached their objectives at altitudes upto 22,000 feet on 15 Aug 2021.
INDIAN ARMY EXPEDITION TO PIN PARVATI
Trekking team of 17 soldiers of the Command undertook a trek to Pin Parvati Pass in Himachal Pradesh. The team was flagged off on 11 Jul 2021 from Tangror Dwar at Sumdo. The team reached Pin Parvati Pass at an altitude of 17,500 feet on 14 Jul 2021. The pass connects barren high altitude terrain of Pin Valley with lush green and fertile Parvati Valley. The arduous, 105 Km long foot trek culminated at Barsaini (near Kullu) on 18 Jul 2021.
CYCLE EXPEDITION
To celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Punjab Regimental Centre, Ramgarh organised a cycle expedition of 75 Km with 75 participants of different age groups. The expedition was flagged off by Nk Gyan Chand, a Veteran of 1971 War. The participants paid tributes at the War Memorial before commencing the expedition.
SAILING REGATTA 2022
The Surya Sailing regatta is an annual event much looked forward to by the keen sailors of the Command.
Surya Command Sailing Regatta 2022 was organised at Berchha Lake, Mhow on 20 February 2022. 24 teams participated in the competition & the winner of the competition was the team from Uttar Bharat Area.
73RD NATIONAL WEIGHTLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
Weightlifters of 1 Signal Training Centre participated in the 73rd National Weightlifting Championship 2021 held at Patiala, Punjab from 09-13 Aug 2021. Hav Achinta Sheuli won two Gold medals in 73 Kg weight category and Hav Vipan Kumar won a Silver in 109 Kg weight category. Both the weightlifters were selected for the trials for forthcoming Commonwealth Championship.
12TH WORLD BODYBUILDING AND PHYSIQUE SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
Five athletes from 1 Signal Training Centre were selected to represent India at the 12th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2021 held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in Oct 2021. Havildar RC Pradhan won a Bronze medal in 90 Kg weight category while Major Abdul Qadir Khan stood 4th in 182 cm Athletic Physique Category.
COMMONWEALTH GAMES-2022
Hav Achinta Sheuli of 1 Signal Training Centre, Jabalpur won the Gold Medal at Commonwealth Games-2022 at Birmingham with a new Commonwealth Games Record.
ARMY INTER COMMAND HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP
The Finals of Indian Army Hockey Championship for the year 2021-22 were played between the teams of Western Command and Central Command on 07 May 2022. The thrilling match and championship was won by Surya Command.
