

The South Western Command Prerna Sthal is an iconic memorial that serves to immortalise the most conspicuous gallantry and leadership of the Indian Army Soldiers. In addition to being a tribute to the unflinching spirit of patriotism, courage and destinguished acts of supreme sacrifice, it serves as a beacon of inspiration for future generations.
The Replica of Jaipur Column. At the forefront of this magnificent sanctum stands the Jaipur Column at a height of 50 ft. It is a grand replica of the Jaipur Column which stand s on the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan. The Jaipur Column is made of Sandstone and atop is a five star Bronze Lotus from which emerges a six pointed star of India. Imperial Eagles embellish the four corners at the plinth of Column. Inside the column, a steel tube runs, anchoring the star to a block in the foundation. The incription on three sides of the Column reads,
“In thought faith, in word wisdom
In deed courage, in life service
So may India be great”
Battle Parks (East & West). To augment the glory of Prerna Sthal, two Battle Parks (East & West) have been created which stand testimony the the glorious saga of the victorious battles fought in 1965 and 1971 War. At the center of Battle Park (West), proudly stands a mural depicting the epic moment of signing of instrument of Surrender by Lt Gen JS Aurora, PVSM, GOC-in-C Eastern Command and Lt Gen AAK Niazi, MC, Pakistan Army. This mural is surrounded by the busts of Field Marshal KM Carriapa, OBE and Field Marshal SHJF Manekshaw, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhusan, MC.
In the Battle Park (East), another mural which symbolizes the great victory of Indian Army in the Battle of Basantar has been instituted. This mural is similarly surrounded by busts of five Param Vir Chakra awardees which includes Sub Joginder Singh, PVC (P), Lt Col AB Tarapore, PVC (P), Maj Hoshiar Singh, PVC, 2nd Lt Arun Khetrapal, PVC (P) and CQMH Abdul Hamid, PVC (P). The two battle parks also exhibit Indian Army’s vintage war fighting machines from these operations.
The Central Cenotaph. The centre of Prerna Sthal showcases a cenotaph with a Self Loading Rifle which stands on its barrel with the helmet of an unknown soldier on the butt. The cenotaph depicts the spirit of the immortal soldier. Behind the cenotaph, names of bravehearts of Strike One and Chetak Corps are reminiscent of the valour and saga of soldiers who laid down their lives and made the supreme sacrifice in line of duty.
