Education Concession

As Per Govt. Letter No. 6-1/2009/Edu. Concession/II/D(Res) dated 25 Oct 2010. The Children Education allowance admissible to the wards of those soldiers killed, missing and permanently disabled in various operations have been revised as under.

(a)   Tuition Fees: Full reimbursement of tuition fee (Capitation fee and caution money not included) levied by the educational institutions concerned(including charges levied for the school bus maintained by the school or actual fares paid for railway pass for students or bus fare certified by the Head of Institutes).

(b)   Hostel Charges: Full reimbursement of Hostel charges for those studing in boarding schools and colleges.

(c)   Cost of books/stationery: Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees on thousand only) per annum per student or the amount claimed by the student, whichever is less.

(d)   Cost of Uniform where this is compulsory: Rs. 1,700/- (Rupees one thousand seven hundred only) at the maximum during 1st year and Rs. 700/- (Rupees seven hundred only) for the subsequent years per annum per student or the amount claimed by the student, whichever is less.

(e)   Clothing: Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) for the 1st year and Rs.300/- ( Rupees three hundred only) for the subsequent years per annum per student or the amount claimed by the student, whichever is less.

(f)   Under the scheme CEA re-imbursement can be availed for two eldest surviving children only, except when the number of children exceeds two due to second childbirth resulting in multiple births.

(g)   Educational Concession will be available up to and inclusive of the First Degree Course.
 

Regimental Associations

Association may be formed by Arms and Service Dtes at AHQs only after obtaining prior approval of the COAS. Cases are processed by CW-3. Final Sanction is given by MoD.

Sports and Adventurous Activities

All Cases seeking sponsorship for sports and adventure activities being organized by Army Adventure cell (AAC) will be routed through MT Dte for final sanction by the AG’s branch. Statement of case must be through proper channel in which full details of sponsor must be given. Auth: AHQ letter No. B/42054/Policy/AG/CW-3 (a) dated 30 Mar 1993. Sanction for sponsorship is accorded by CW-3 AG’s Branch.

Entertainment of Troops

Command HQs may project special demand of entertainment troupe for difficult areas or for special occasion if required. CW-3 forwards the proposal to Song & Drama Div, Ministry of I&B, Soochana Bhawan, for taking necessary action. Auth: GoI letter No. B/44005/Policy/AG/CW-3 dated 30 Mar 1993.

Rail Travel Concession

Concession:- First Class/AC-2 Tier Complimentary Card Pass facility is available to following along with one companion in all Express/Mail trains except Rajdhani and Shatabadi Express trains:-

(a)   The Chakra series Gallantry Awardees

(b)   Widows of the Chakra Series Gallantry Awardees (posthumous).

Facility to travel by Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express trains to the awardees and widows of posthumous awardees of PVC, MVC and VrC has been extended.

75% concession for travel in 2nd Class Mail/Express trains is available to the war widows & Widows of Defence personnel killed in action against Terrorists and Extremists.

Procedure:-   Complimentary passes are issued by Divisional Railway Manager and Headquarters of Indian Railways on receipt of applications, which should be accompanied by attested photocopy of citation. For widows, attested copy of pension payment order (PPO) and valid photo identity card issued by respective ZSBs/KSB, are also required to be produced.

Air Travel Concession

Concession:- 75% concession in normal economy class INR fare for travel in domestic flights by Indian Airlines to:-

(a)   Pre-Independence Awards

(i)   Level-I Victoria Cross (VC), George Cross (GC)

(ii)   Level-II Distinguished Service (DSC), Military Cross (MC), George Medal (GM), Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC)

(b)   Post-Independence Awards

(i)   Level-I Param Vir Chakra (PVC), Ashok Chakra (AC)

(ii)   Level-II Maha Vir Chakra (MVC), Kirti Chakra (KC)

(c)   War Disabled Officers of 1962, 1965, 1971 Conflicts and Op Vijay.

(d)   War Widows of Indian Armed Forces personnel Killed in action.

Procedure

(a)   Identity Cards to Gallantry Awardees (Officers), war widows of Officers and war-disabled officers are issued by MB 5(b).

(b)   Identity Cards to Gallantry Awardees (JCOs/OR) and war widows of JCOs/OR are issued by AG/MP-8 through respective Record Office.

Telephone Concession

(a)   Entitled to

(i)   Chakra Series Gallantry Award Winners.

(ii)   War Widows

(iii)   Disabled Soldiers.

(b)   Concessions

(i)   Full concession in installation charges.

(ii)   Full concession in rental charges to Chakra Series gallantry award winners.

(iii)   50% concession in normal rental charges to war widows and disabled soldiers.

(iv)   Exempted from paying registration charges.

(v)   Priority under Non-OYT Special category for release of tele connection.
