The aims and objectives of the associations are :-
1. To promote 'esprit-de-corps' amongst officers of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
2. Keep members informed of the activities and achievements of the Regiment through newsletters.
3. Provide information which could help serving/retired officers in resettlement.
4. Identify and periodically update measures to project the image of the Regiment at Army and National levels

ORGANISATION AND MANAGEMENT |
|
|
There will be two committees |
(a) The Management Committee |
|
Management Committee. The Management Committee shall comprise of sixteen members as under:- |
|
|
1. Chairman |
: The Colonel of the Regiment. |
|
2. Vice Chairman |
: The Commandant , MIRC |
|
3. Secretary |
: Deputy Commandant, MIRC |
|
4. Assistant Secretary |
: Regimental Affairs Officer (RAO), MIRC |
|
5. Treasurer |
: Accounts Officer, MIRC |
|
6. Members |
: (a) One serving officer will be recommended by the COs at the Biennial Conference and nominated by the Chairman. In case of a necessity to change a member during the turn, the Chairman will select the officer based on the recommendations of the Executive Committee.
(b) Two retired officers to be elected by the General Body Meeting during the Reunion. |

7. Honorary Members |
:(a) One elected/nominated member from each Chapter.
(b) One senior most serving officer each at Indian Military Academy Chennai and Gaya, Officers Training Academy, Defence Services Staff College and Army War College (i.e. five officers) |
|
8. The term of office for elected/selected members will be four years only to coincide with Regimental Reunions held at the Centre. Election of retired officers as members of the Management Committee shall be by ballot prior to the Reunion. Results will be announced during the Reunion. Term will start with effect from the particular Reunion where the results are announced. |

Executive Committee. The Executive Committee, responsible for day to day functioning, shall comprise the following:- |

: Regimental Affairs Officer (RAO), MIRC |

4. Treasurer |
: Accounts Officer, MIRC. |
MEMBERSHIP
Eligibility for the membership will be as under:-
1. All serving officers of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment will be members of the Association, which is obligatory.
2. The membership to retired officers is on voluntary basis and will be through the MIRC/Mechanised Infantry Battalion in which they have served.
3. All Mechanised Infantry Battalions will be members for the purpose of the Newsletters and other publications of the Association against their subscriptions.
4. Any officer cashiered from service on any disciplinary grounds will not be allowed to be a member.
5. Honorary Members (Non Voting). Widows of all Mechanised Infantry Officers will be treated as honorary members.
6. Cancellation/Dissolution of Membership. Management Committee/General Body shall reserve the right to deny or cancel membership of any individual, who in its view, fails to live up to the values and traditions cherished by the Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
