Antedate of commission will be granted as follows : -

(a)     All full pay commissioned service rendered as SSC Officer will count towards service for pay, promotion and seniority.

(b)     JCOs who have 8 years and more combined service as JCOs and Ors at the time of grant of commission will, however, be commissioned in the rank of Lt and granted two years antedate for purposes of pay only.

(c)     Candidates who were granted antedate of 2 years under AI 40/73 during their SSC will be entitled to retain the benefit on the grant of PC to them. In no case will antedate carry the back pay.
