GALLEY MUSEUM

The Galley Museum was shifted from Meerut to Ramgarh in 1979 and subsequently moved to present building on 05 Nov 1994. The museum comprises of the Alaxander Hall, Lakhwinder Hall, Sampuran Hall and Aurora Hall, each in its way depicting the origin, Colonels and Colours, Units’ Histories and last but not the least “Glory and Fame” respectively. The museum contains some important relics of historical, antique and above all martial value typifying the Punjab Regiment Credo of “Sthal Wa Jal”. Some of the important souvenirs of the museum are irreplaceable and occupy their place of pride in the hollowed halls. Certain items of the museum now reside in the War Museum of Ludhiana where they were shifted to in 1999.

      

 

REGT WAR MEMORIAL

The War Memorial at the Punjab Regimental Centre has been erected in the memory of Soldiers who made supreme sacrifice in the services of the Nation either during war or in war like situation and IS duties in the country or abroad post independence. The memorial reminds us of the martyrs selfless dedication to duty and motivates us for duty unto death.

The memorial was inaugurated by Maj Gen KA Taylor, then Col of the Regiment on 23 Mar 1989. The memorial is loc adjacent to the Regimental Museum. It encompasses green meadows in an area of 100m by 100m and has a rose garden on either side of the pathway leading to the memorial. The marble structure of the memorial stands in the centre and the boundary walls have white marble plaques each dedicated to one of the units of the 25 Bns of the Punjab Regiment with names of the martyrs inscripted on them. Teachings from Geeta have also been inscripted on both sides of the War Memorial.

All rks of the Regiment and vis Sr offrs/dignitaries, ex-servicemen, pay homage at the memorial to martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for the glory and honour of the country and the Regiment.
