ARMY ORGANISES VETERAN OUTREACH PROGRAM AT TURA

Assam Regimental Center under aegis of HQ 101 Area organised a Veteran Outreach Program at Tura from 12 Dec - 13 Dec 2022. The program included interaction with veterans felicitation of Veer Naaris, grievance redressal, information on latest policies, canteen facilities and a medical camp by specialist doctors from Military Hospital Shillong and Base Hospital Guwahati.

A total of 400 veterans from West Garo Hills and East Garo Hills district participated in the program and were benefitted by the various facilities provided. The veterans expressed their satisfaction for the way in which the program was conducted and appreciated the mechanism of grievance redressal. Speaking during the program Brigadier DSC Kanyal, SM, Commandant Assam Regimental Centre assured the veterans of all possible help. Secretary Rajya Sainik Board also thanked the Army for conducting the event in the most professional manner.

ARMED FORCES VETERANS DAY

To mark respect & recognition of the services rendered by our veterans, Red Horns Div of Gajraj Corps felicitated veterans at kokrajhar, Agia, Bongaigaon, Rangia in Lower Assam on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day on 14 Jan 2023.

ESM RALLY AT TAWANG

A ESM Rally was organised at Tawang on 03 Dec 22 to help resolve grievances on pension, banking & records to provide medical care to ESM in remote areas. The rally was organised as part of the effort to maintain connect with veterans, Veer Nari Veer Mata through Veteran Suvidha Kendras.

ECHS CONCLAVE HELD AT JORHAT ON 24 AUG 2022

Delegates from five North East states took part in ECHS Conclave held at Jorhat, giving a fillip to Ex-Servicemen welfare & better services. Interaction and lectures by subject experts resolved major issues. 

EX-SERVICEMEN JOB SEMINAR CUM RALLY AT NARANGI MILITARY STATION 

The Ex-Servicemen Job Seminar cum Rally, held on 11th and 12th February at Narangi Military Station, Guwahati, was a resounding success, attracting job seekers and top employers from across the region. The event, aimed at connecting ex-servicemen with job opportunities, was attended by a diverse group of individuals, including military veterans and active-duty service members.

ESM RALLY AT BOMDILLA, ARUNACHAL PRADESH

An Exservicemen Rally was organized on 26 Nov 22 at Bomdilla, Arunachal Pradesh to resolve pension & records issues, provide medical care and for maint continued connect with Veer Naris & Veer Matas. A large number of ESM from West & East Kameng Distts attended the rally.

FELICITATION OF FAMILY MEMBERS OF 1962 HEROES

Family members of War Heroes of Indo- China War were felicitated by Lt Gen R P Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, Army Cdr Eastern Comd, on the occasion of Nuranang Day on 17 Nov 22. Family members of Sub Joginder Singh, PVC, Capt Mahavir Prasad, MVC, Rfn Jaswant Singh Rawat, MVC, Lance Naik Sardar Singh VrC, Hav Govind Kamble, VrC and Rfn Tabi Dafla joined the troops and locals in paying homage.

GAJRAJ CORPS ORGANISED AN EX– SERVICEMEN RALLY AT BALIPARA IN TEZPUR

Gajraj Corps organised an Ex– Servicemen Rally at Balipara in Tezpur on 05 Feb 2023 with an aim to redress grievances of ESM and highlight and spread awareness amongst these ESM regarding various schemes of the Government for ESM personnel. The ESM rally witnessed a large turnout from remote & far-flung villages of Sonitpur and Bishwanath Distts.

INDIAN ARMY COMMEMORATES 60 YEARS OF BATTLE OF WALONG

Indian Army celebrated Diamond Jubilee of the Battle of Walong, a saga of unique bravery, guts & sacrifice by the Indian Army against the Chinese aggression in Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. Sixty years ago during the 1962 Sino - India war, the Indian Army gave a bloody nose to the Chinese in the Battle of Walong. The iconic month long Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Battle of Walong culminated on 16 November 2022. The closing ceremony was graced by Lt Gen R P Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command. The Army Commander laid wreath at the Walong War Memorial & paid homage to the heroes of the battle.  During the ceremony, War Veterans, their NOKs & locals who assisted in the war effort were honoured. 

RALLY ORGANISED TO  HONOUR VETERANS & VEER NARIS OF INDIAN ARMY

As a mark of everlasting bonds with the Military Veterans Fraternity for their unflinching contribution to the nation, Trishakti Corps organised a Rally on 07 Nov 2022 with a special focus on pension & wellness at Gangtok, Sikkim. Armed Forces veterans and their families attended the event in large numbers. Veer Naris and prominent veterans were honoured in memory of the sacrifice and selfless service rendered by our veterans.

VETERANS RALLY AT PANAGARH MILITARY STATION ON THE OCCASION OF SEVENTH ARMED FORCES VETERANS DAY

Brahmastra Corps conducted Veterans Day Rally on the occasion of Seventh Armed Forces Veterans Day Celebration on 14 Jan 2023 at Panagarh Military Station. Shri Shantanu Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways was Chief Guest  & Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC (Retd), former member Armed Forces Tribunal, General Officer Commanding -in-Chief South Western Command & Colonel of the MAHAR Regimentwas guest of honour of the event.
